I became a vegetarian almost 25 years ago, and have never regretted it. I feel good without the meat-part of my diet, and my health is fine. (This is a secret, but I actually tried to eat meat a couple of years ago, but it just didn’t feel… right, you know? I guess when you have been a vegetarian long enough you lose your taste for meat!)
But what with the vegan part?
My daughter, who is 13, became a vegan this winter. Her intention was actually to go vegetarian, but being the girl she is she decided to take it all the way. Now that, ladies and gentlemen, put me on the school bench again!
What do you need to eat to avoid nutrient shortage? What is a good and healthy breakfast? Do we have to have tofu every dinner?
I’ve learned so much these last months, and I’ve found so many new foods that I didn’t even know existed, and I’ve cooked and failed and tried again. And, which has been a huge help to me, my niece is actually a dietitian AND a vegan.
The reason I’ve created this site is to help others who either have decided to go vegan themselves, or have someone in their household doing that, to easy find information about vegan food. And most of all, to find easy, healthy and delicious recipes for all meals during the day!
About me then…
I’m a biologist and teacher, and currently work with food safety. I’m 54 years old, and have three kids, two of them grown up and leading lifes of their own. At home is still my vegan daughter 🙂
I spend a lot of time in my garden, my gardening year starts in January with sowing indoors under a big lamp.
I’m very happy to have created this site, and I will add to it constantly, so make sure you visit regularly!
Enjoy your vegan cooking, be good and have fun!
